We are from near Thondi, a coastal town in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. Our district is often considered industrially backward, with very few major industries and being drought-prone due to the lack of rivers and rainfall.

India has a coastline of about 7,500 kms, of which Tamil Nadu contributes around 1,076 kms, making up nearly 15% of the country’s total. Out of this, Ramanathapuram district alone has 237 kms of coastal stretch, the longest in Tamil Nadu, and Thondi lies right at the heart of it.
